About Shopper’s Almanac

Draft for founder rewrite — the framing to keep: an almanac for prices, not a coupon site.

An almanac tells you what usually happens — when the frost comes, when the tide turns — so you can plan instead of guess. Shopper’s Almanac does the same for prices. We record what things actually cost, every day, and over time those records add up to something no "SALE" sticker can fake: a memory.

Retail prices move constantly, and every retailer wants you to believe that today is the day to buy. Sometimes it is. Usually it isn’t. The only way to know the difference is history — what this exact product sold for last week, last month, last season. That history is the entire product here. When we say a price is good, we can show you the chart that proves it; when we don’t have enough history to judge, we say so and wait.

What we do

We ingest retailer product feeds daily, record every price, and judge today’s price against its own past — never against an invented "was" price. We tell you when something is genuinely cheap, when a deal has ended, and when the smart move is to wait.

What we never do

We never reorder a price comparison because someone paid us. Sponsored placements exist, are always labeled, and never touch a ranking. Rows sort by price. Always.

Advertiser disclosure: Shopper’s Almanac is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission from retailers including Academy Sports + Outdoors. Sponsored placements are always labeled and never change the price ranking — rows are sorted by price, always. Prices update daily from retailer product feeds; the price at checkout may include additional in-cart discounts. Retailer links activate as affiliate approvals complete.
